Twenty's Crafting Guide

by Twenty

This is a crafting guide focused on using crafts and desynths to optimize the efficiencies.

Basic Information

  • Make sure you have at least a few million gil available before you start any craft. This is easily obtainable on the Nocturnal Souls server. Getting 2 jobs to 99 and finishing your nation’s missions can easily net you about 10 - 15 million.
  • The intention of this guide was to be able to level up your crafts quickly and efficiently. My aim was to find vendors that sold all of the materials needed to keep costs down. Although sometimes I couldn’t find alternative cheaper synthesis recipes, I tried to focus on reliability of item stock. Some farming might be needed because of no vendor availability or AH price was unreasonable.
  • Do your due diligence and research the synthesis ingredients. Vendors will often sell them for dirt cheap! Muliple vendors will also sell the same item at different costs, beware!
  • !shop 2 for all of your crystal and cluster needs.
  • The !craft merchants, located at the Purgonorgo Isle crafting zone, provide a rotating stock of inventory, including rare items on certain days.
  • !craft merchants can also grant you Synthesis Support by trading the respective merchant an HQ crystal found at !shop 2.
  • Your aim for quick skill-ups is to make items 12 - 15 levels under recipe cap. When you start to near the recipe cap level, skill-ups will slow down severely, especially when you are 2 - 1 levels under recipe cap.
  • Remember to take the rank quest when you are 2 - 0 levels under cap. Sometimes it would be wise to take the test early instead of finishing up to the limit. Especially if you are running low on materials and wish to skip a few levels.
    • E.G. Carpenter level 18 - 20 can take the Initiate test.
  • Most of these guides go over the usage of Kits. I start off with the level 15 Kits at level 0. The reason for this is because these will be quick skill-ups and will leave you at the perfect skill up range before you rank-up.
    • Carpenter (range 0 - 10) has you use Carpenter Kit 15 as an ingredient. Using these will provide quick skill-ups since the recipe will be 15 - 5 levels above you.
    • Once you start nearing the range of 2 - 1 levels of the recipe, skill-ups will slow down.
    • Some of the crafted items from kits can yield a profit if sold back to the AH-Bot. Make sure to check before you vendor things off!
  • This guide will sometimes provide a synthesis to desynthesis loop. Example below.
    • Carpenter (range 20 - 30) has you make Oak Lumber (35).
    • Carpenter (range 30 - 40) Uses the Oak Lumber (35) to make Oak Cudgels (41)
    • Carpenter (range 30 - 40) Uses the Oak Cudgels (41) to desynth back into Oak Lumber (41)
  • To break the 100 cap, a quest will be involved with each turn-in NPC. They will request a key item that is bought through Guild Points (20,000 GP).
    • Carpenter for example will need a signed Vejovis Wand and Way of the Carpenter (Key Item) in order to go from 100 to 101.

Legend

  • I have provided a range in which the synthesis will be most optimal. Some recipes which match the level cap will have slow skill-up gains.
  • This guide will provide a (#) after the item to denote what level this recipe caps at. Meaning you cannot gain skill-ups past this number.
